Full packing, partial packing, or just the scary stuff
Packing is where most moving damage actually happens — not in the truck. Professionally packed boxes are uniform, sealed, and stack safely, which also makes the load faster and cheaps your total move. We offer three levels:
- Full pack: we pack the entire home, room by room, labeled by destination. You wake up on move day with everything boxed.
- Fragile-only pack: we pack the kitchen, glass, art, lamps, and electronics — the items most likely to break — and you handle clothes and books.
- Unpacking: at the new place we unpack to counters and surfaces, and remove all boxes and paper the same day.
Kitchens are our specialty
Dish packs with cell dividers, every plate wrapped standing on edge, glasses double-papered, and the box weighted correctly so it can hold the stack above it. A kitchen packed right survives any staircase in Santa Monica.
What packing costs
3-hour minimum on all moves. Firm written quote before move day.

Frequently asked questions
How much does packing service cost?
Packing is billed at the same hourly crew rates as moving — $139/hr for two movers, $169/hr for three — plus materials at cost. A full one-bedroom pack typically takes 2–3 hours; a full two-bedroom takes 3–5. Fragile-only packing (kitchen, art, glass) is usually 1–2 hours.
Do I need to buy boxes?
No. We bring dish packs, book boxes, medium and large cartons, packing paper, bubble wrap and tape, and charge only for what we actually use. Wardrobe boxes are lent free on move day.
Can you pack the day before the move?
Yes, and for two-bedroom homes and larger we recommend it — a pack day before keeps move day shorter and cheaper, and gives you an evening to set aside essentials you'll want to carry yourself.
